Stott Pilates is a contemporary approach to the original exercise method developed by Joseph Pilates in the 1920's. This low impact form of exercise works specific muscle groups in a very controlled and precise manner to improve the way your body functions, looks and feels.
The exercises increase flexibility and range of motion whilst strengthening the abdominal and back muscles which stabilize the spine and support the back. As the core postural muscles are strengthened the natural curves of the spine are restored. The muscles surrounding the joints are rebalanced and the alignment of the whole body is improved.
STOTT PILATES exercise method has earned an international reputation as the world's most respected Pilates brand. STOTT PILATES instructors are some of the most sought after Pilates teachers in the world.
Due to the intricate nature of Pilates we recommend that you begin your Pilates training with a Private Introductory Session. This session takes a detailed look at the basic principles that provide the basis of all the exercises that follow. This personal approach ensures that each exercise is performed correctly to obtain the maximum benefits and that you are able to work specifically with the unique needs of your own body.
Following your Private Introductory Session this class will reiterate the principles learnt, enhancing your practice and body awareness further. A firm foundation of the essential matwork exercises will be performed allowing you to develop strength before progressing to the next level.
This class will continue to develop your core strength. The exercises will begin to flow more from one to another whilst working the whole body. New exercises and equipment will be introduced to challenge your stability and add a fresh approach to your class.
This far more challenging class offers a full range of intermediate and some advanced exercises for those who are ready! More challenging pieces of equipment will be used and creative sequences given to ensure you remain challenged and enthused.
Whether you prefer practicing alone or in a group, are a beginner or an advanced practitioner, private lessons allow you to have your own personal instructor. Our professional instructors will design a programme specifically to your needs.
All classes are run on a course basis and need to be booked and paid for in advance.
